Language development
Language can be related to how we use words and sentences to make ourselves understood, as well as our ability to understand others. Supporting language development is integral to children being able to make their wants and needs met, as well as communicate in a social capacity with others. Katelin has undertaken Hanen - It Takes Two To Talk training, and various professional development workshops to develop her skills and knowledge in this area.

Stuttering
Stuttering is a fluency disorder that interrupts the flow of speech. It is a common communication concern for children. Katelin has an extensive understanding of fluency disorders and their treatment, including training and experience implementing the Lidcombe Program, Westmead Program and Camperdown Program.

Literacy
Literacy skills are used for effective reading and writing. Support in the areas of letter and sound recognition, spelling rules and phonological awareness build a foundation for children to develop their literacy skills. Katelin has undertaken training in Sounds Write (phonics program) as well as professional development through the Literacy Guarantee Unit.

Speech development
Speech refers to the sounds within words. and how they are produced. Difficulties in using speech sounds can impact how easily a child can make themselves understood. Early intervention in this area can help children to communicate more effectively. Katelin has undertaken specific training in treatment of speech sound disorders.

Selective Mutism
Selective Mutism is an anxiety disorder. Although it must be formally identified by a psychologist, Katelin has undertaken speech pathology training through the Selective Mutism Clinic in Sydney to deliver family intervention and support.

Clinician Supervision
Katelin is able to provide supervision for junior clinicians in the areas of speech, language, literacy and stuttering. Face-to-face and Telehealth consultations are available. Please contact for availability and costs.
